Casa Volta Container House – Spain

Hi everybody

Today we will show you shipping container house from Spain.

House sited in Terrassa old town centre, occupying four small adjoining plots on a site between two streets.

The project envisages two volumes or ‘wings’, one for the parents of a family and the other for their offspring. Each volume offers its own distinctive architectural and building solutions. In the parent’s wing, the open-plan volume has a span of almost 9 metres, allowing large, airy spaces, creating gardens and patios, and even a roof swimming pool.

The wing for the younger generation uses shipping containers of the ‘high cube’ type to create modules for the rooms, yielding a more ‘laid-back’, industrial style. The two wings are joined by a garden and by a basement (the latter covering the whole plot).

Living in a Container explores projects made with shipping containers around the world and shares them for you.
