Recycled Shipping Container Guest House in Texas – USA

Hi everybody ?

We continue to discover for you. Our container house on today’s tour is from USA.

After exploring some of the best shipping container homes on the planet, we figured now was the perfect time to shine the spotlight one of our personal favorites – the Shipping Container Guest House.

Nested in Stacey Hill’s backyard of her San Antonio home, the project was helmed by Texas architect Jim Poteet. Serving as a guest quarters for Stacey’s visiting family and friends, the 8’x8’x40′ structure is still sporting the container’s original blue color, with the exception of a wall being partially removed to house the sliding glass doors.

The point of the project was to remain as sustainable as possible, which is why the deck is made from recycled soda caps, the foundation is built from old telephone poles, and a green roof and composting toilet were used.

Living in a Container explores projects made with shipping containers around the world and shares them for you.
Don’t forget to take a look at the structures made with other amazing shipping containers on our site!
